Math Board for AI assistants

Ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another assistant to solve a problem, and get the solution as a board: formulas, graphs and drawings, ready for the lesson. Free, no sign-in.

Two ways

  • Create with AI works with any chat, with nothing to install: on a board or on the boards page, open Create with AI, describe the task, and paste the answer back.
  • The Math Board connector (an MCP server) lets the assistant make the board itself and give you a link to it.

The connector's address

https://mathboard.datapad.tools/api/mcp

No sign-in and no API key. It works with any assistant that supports remote MCP servers (Streamable HTTP). It is listed in the official MCP Registry as tools.datapad/math-board.

Add it to your assistant

  • Claude (web and desktop): Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste the address. Free plans can add one custom connector.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http mathboard https://mathboard.datapad.tools/api/mcp
  • ChatGPT: turn on developer mode in the settings (Apps → Advanced settings; available on some plans), then create an app with the address and no authentication.
  • Gemini and other assistants: add a remote MCP server with the address, if your version supports it.

Try it

  • "Solve 2x² − 7x + 3 = 0 step by step on a Math Board for my grade 8 class."
  • "Here is a photo of a textbook problem: make a board with the statement, a drawing and the solution."
  • "Make a worksheet on the Pythagorean theorem: five exercises on one page and the answers on the next."
  • "Give my students three hints for this problem, one per page, and then the solution."
  • "Here is my board (a link): make the exercises easier for weaker students."

What the assistant can do

  • get_board_format: the board format, with a complete example.
  • check_board: checks a board and reports every problem with its line and how to fix it.
  • publish_board: publishes a checked board and returns a link that opens it in the browser.
  • read_board: reads the board behind a shared link or a live link, as text.
  • add_to_board: adds steps, hints or pages to the board a teacher has open; the teacher sees them at once and can undo them.

Working on an open board

On your board, choose Work with AI on this board to make a live link, and give it to the assistant. It can read the board and add to it while you teach, during a lesson with students too. Nothing on the board is changed or removed, and you can undo every addition.

Good to know

  • An AI made the board: check the mathematics before the lesson.
  • A published link opens the board in your browser, where you can save it to your boards. A link nobody opens expires after 7 days; each opening keeps it longer.
  • Limits: up to 60 requests a minute and about 20 published boards an hour from one address.
  • Our server reads board texts only to check them and keeps nothing readable: see the privacy policy.

If something does not work

  • The assistant does not use Math Board: check that the connector is turned on for the chat, and mention Math Board in your request.
  • A link does not open: copy it whole; the part after the # is the key.
  • "Too many requests": wait a minute and try again.
  • Anything else: write to ‹support email›.
